Welcome to the
Faith-Community Division of NOKR. My name is Jeff Hanna,
Division Director.
Why does NOKR need a Faith-Based
Division? There are several reasons. First, faith
communities, by their very nature, are positioned to reach out
to those faced with crises and emergencies. It’s what we
do. Secondly, in recent years the government has
recognized something we have known for some time. In times
of disasters, emergencies and crisis, some of the first people
on scene are usually people of faith. They are there to
offer support, supplies, counseling, spiritual care and a
shoulder to cry on. Finally, congregations are being
called on more and more to become better prepared for
emergencies. Though we have learned some difficult lessons
in the past year, it’s good to see more congregations doing
emergency planning.
NOKR
recognizes the faith-community as an integral part of their
mission, which is:
To make it possible for people to
register their next of kin and others for everyday emergency
situations, in natural catastrophes, or man made disasters.
Who better to create awareness, prepare its members, and be
there in a time of need than the 300,000 plus churches in the
USA. |

As a former detective, pastor, and current safety, security and
ministry protection professional, it is my goal to help churches
communicate with their membership and even reach out to their
community about the importance of registering for the FREE
NOKR service.
I believe that
nothing could be more heartbreaking and devastating than losing
a loved one, or having a family member injured, and not knowing
where they are. Caring for the people God has entrusted to
our care is a great act of faith. I am sure you will want
to be a part of those who are partnering together to help
hundreds of thousands of people with the one simple act of
registering.
I am proud and
excited to be affiliated with NOKR and hope that you will not
only register your loved ones, but will also contact me to let
me know how we might be able to assist you in getting this
important message out to others.
